Tweaks for a large FTP-Server

For large public FTP-Server you should use vsftpd.
It’s scalable and easy to configure after you found out how to configure IPv6 (see below).

Some tweaks:


  • mount the FTP-home with the option noatime

  • Redirect ISO downloads from the http to the ftp-Server ( RedirectMatch 301 /(.*\.iso)$ ftp://your.hostname.here/$1 )
